Meet Donna
Meet Donna, Owner, Director and Lead Tutor at The Printroom Studio.
Donna Jean Peters is the founder of The Printroom Studio and the creative force behind this welcoming printmaking space at the historic Walford Mill in Wimborne, Dorset.
Originally from Maryland, USA, Donna moved to the UK to study at The Arts University Bournemouth, where she completed a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Illustration. She is a highly experienced and respected printmaker, with over ten years of experience teaching printmaking, art and design across Higher and Further Education.
Donna combines passion, technical skill and creative insight with a calm, encouraging and supportive teaching style. Whether she is working with complete beginners, experienced artists, or makers developing new work, her approach is knowledgeable, patient and full of care.
She created The Printroom Studio as a place where people can properly explore 13 different printmaking processes, with professional equipment, expert guidance and a genuinely supportive and inclusive studio atmosphere.
Donna believes in helping people build confidence through process, play and hands-on making, one print at a time.
Her own practice often sees her printing on unorthodox and unexpected surfaces. Car bonnets, car doors, bread, teabags, toilet paper, you name it, Donna has printed on it.
